Steppit's Story

In 2018, Co-incidence supported two engineers, Josh Taylor and Dan Williams, recent graduates from Bath University with Master’s degrees in Integrated Engineering. Driven by a passion for making learning more accessible, they set out to create the Workshop platform – a tool that enables teachers and learners to customise education to suit individual learning styles. One of their early successes was partnering with Leiths School of Food and Wine to develop the Leiths Online Cookery School, which quickly became one of the largest online cooking schools in the UK.

In parallel, Josh has continued to evolve his vision in partnership with Hannah Cooke with the creation of Steppit, a platform that reimagines personalised teaching and learning. As part of the Co-incidence Experiment, Steppit is committed to social initiatives aligned with the UK education system, empowering educators and students to share resources and implement scalable, personalised learning solutions that address specific skills gaps and educational needs.

Steppit is currently seeding its platform with a select group of teachers and learners, focusing on helping students with SEND in secondary education and laying the foundation for its expansion into Further Education. In addition, the platform is securing partnerships to broaden its reach into new sectors, driving innovation and collaboration in education.
